AirPod Replacement Store · Trade-In Guide

You can submit complete AirPods sets, individual earbuds, or charging cases for trade-in review. The AirPod Replacement Store portal also allows submissions for items with an unknown or nonworking status.

Offers are reviewed manually. The portal does not generate an instant automatic quote.

Old AirPods often end up in a drawer because one earbud is missing, the charging case was replaced, or a newer model took their place. A complete retail set is not required to submit a trade-in request. Individual components may still be useful when their exact model and condition can be identified.

Open the AirPods Trade-In Portal

What AirPods can you trade in?

The current portal accepts submissions for the following categories:

  • AirPods Pro 1 complete sets or individual pieces
  • AirPods Pro 2 USB-C complete sets or individual pieces
  • AirPods Pro 2 Lightning complete sets or individual pieces
  • AirPods Pro 3 complete sets or individual pieces
  • AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation complete sets or individual pieces
  • Other AirPods-related items described in the submission

You can identify the included parts as the charging case, left AirPod, right AirPod, original packaging, charging cord, or charging brick.

Can you trade in only one AirPod or a charging case?

Yes. The portal accepts individual components for review. You can submit a single left earbud, single right earbud, charging case, or a combination of pieces. This is useful when you have leftovers from an incomplete set.

Use the part number printed on the component whenever possible. AirPod model numbers begin with the letter A, such as A2700. The exact number helps distinguish components that look almost identical.

Can damaged or nonworking AirPods be submitted?

Yes. The form includes four condition selections: Great, Good, Fair, and Not Working/Unknown. Describe the working status and any visible damage accurately, then include clear photos. Submission allows the item to be reviewed; it does not guarantee that every item will receive an offer.

How the AirPods trade-in process works

Five-step AirPods trade-in process showing identify, describe, photograph, submit, and manual offer review.

  1. Identify the components. Find the AirPod model and part numbers printed on the earbuds or charging case.
  2. Select everything included. Tell us whether you have the case, left AirPod, right AirPod, packaging, cable, or charging brick.
  3. Describe the condition. Select Great, Good, Fair, or Not Working/Unknown and explain the working status.
  4. Upload clear photos. Include the case, earbuds, identifying details, and any significant damage.
  5. Submit the request. We review the information manually and email an offer based on the submitted details.

How to prepare a stronger trade-in submission

Complete information makes the item easier to evaluate. Before opening the portal:

  • Gather every component included in the trade-in.
  • Find and record the A-number on each earbud and charging case.
  • Test basic charging, pairing, microphone, speaker, and noise-control functions when possible.
  • Note scratches, cracks, liquid exposure, weak batteries, static, pairing problems, or missing pieces.
  • Photograph the front, back, underside, model markings, and visible damage.

If you cannot confirm whether a component works, select Not Working/Unknown rather than guessing.

Why model numbers matter

Different AirPods generations can have nearly identical shapes while using different replacement components. AirPods Pro 2 USB-C and Lightning models are a common example. Supplying the A-number helps determine exactly what you have and reduces confusion during review.

On AirPods and AirPods Pro earbuds, the model number is printed on the underside of the earbud. The charging-case model number appears in the small printed information inside the case. Apple also explains how to locate model numbers in its AirPods identification guide.

What happens after you submit?

Your submission is reviewed rather than priced by an automated calculator. AirPod Replacement Store uses the model, included parts, reported condition, working status, description, and photos to evaluate the request. The offer is then sent by email.

If you accept the offer, follow the instructions provided in the email for the remaining steps. Keep the submitted components together so the received items match the information and photos provided.

Start your AirPods trade-in request

Have the model numbers, condition information, and photos ready before beginning. The form lets you add more than one item when you have multiple sets or separate components.
